The ARDEX UI 720 FLEXBONE is a floating uncoupling and stress-relieving membrane designed for tile flooring installations, including basement flooring applications. Installed as a floating membrane over the subfloor, it protects tile and stone finishes from lateral movement, in-plane substrate shifts, and structural stress, preventing tile cracking. Its true uncoupling design allows installation over challenging substrates with reduced surface preparation, saving time on renovation. Perforations throughout the membrane allow vapor pressure equalization, making it ideal for moisture-prone concrete slabs and wood-based subfloors commonly found in basements and slab-on-grade floors. The unique bone-shaped stud pattern fills easily with thin-set mortar, while integrated undercuts mechanically lock into the cured mortar, creating a strong mechanical bond to the tile assembly. The studs support tile loads, absorb shear movement, and improve flexibility, extending the life of tile and grout joints.
